DIY Sensory Kitchen: Butter Slime

We have finally mastered the best slime! It's called butter slime, and trust me it feels SO good, you won't want to put it down!

Ingredients:

  • 1 (4-ounce) bottle glue

  • 1/2 cup warm water (+ empty bottle filled with water)

  • 1 teaspoon Borax

  • Food coloring, (Optional - We use US Cake Supply coloring find it here! )

  • Lotion

  • Fragrance Oil (Optional - I use Soap/Candle Fragrance oils from VA Candle Supply. Here is the direct link for Fruit Loops Scent. You just need 1-3 drops! We also LOVE Birthday Cake Scent! )

  • Model Magic (We buy the HUGE box (in white) and it lasts for some time)

To begin, you will start by making traditional slime:

Squeeze the bottle of glue into a plastic container. Fill bottle with warm water and then add to the glue. Stir with a plastic spoon. Add your food coloring if desired, and stir until mixed.

Combine 1/2 cup water and borax, then slowly add to the glue mixture, stirring as you go. You do not need to use all of the solution, just until it starts to thicken.

Using your hands, knead the slime until it holds together. It will be wet and gooey at first, but just keep kneading until it all comes together.

Next, to get the "butter" part, you want to mix in equal parts of model magic, start mixing, and then add a quarter sized dollop of lotion, and add a few drops of your fragrance oil. Work with it stretching it and mixing it, if it is too tough add a little bit more lotion, this will make it silky smooth!

This part gets really sticky, but keep playing with it! I will eventually all come together really nice, and leave your hands mess free! I PROMISE!!!

You can get fancy and mix two or three colors when they are all made! This one we called unicorn slime!

We use these containers and found them on amazon! You can order them in a 6 or 12 pack! (Perfect for slime partys! Find them here!
