What You Will Need

We want families to feel confident and prepared before beginning an online Canvas course. Below is everything your student will need to successfully participate and get the most out of their learning experience.

To get started with your online Canvas course, students will need the following:

  • A device: Laptop, desktop, Chromebook, or tablet (computer recommended; phones not advised)

  • Internet access: A reliable connection to access lessons and submit work

  • Canvas access: Courses are hosted in Canvas, where students will view lessons, submit assignments, and receive feedback. When you sign up, you will recieve a link to sign up for a free canvas account.

  • Email access: Used for course updates and communication. Learners should have their own email account, as our courses do require communication via email/notifications for course updates. We reccommend that parent/guardian have access to this account too.

  • Basic supplies: Notebook, pencil, and any course-specific materials. Most projects are done with paper/digital, however sometimes we will give them the option to use other things they have (like cardboard boxes, paper towel rolls, etc... each project is flexible).

  • Learning space: A quiet area to focus

Students receive ongoing feedback and have continuous access to the instructor throughout the course via Canvas and email.

Learners will need to be able to take a photo of their handmade projects to upload into their classroom to turn it in.

They can download the Canva App (Or parents can download on their phone) to do this, go to account on the left side, and select "QR for Moble Login" this will allow you to scan on your phone and find their class.
