Arctic Unit Study: A Cross-Curricular Learning Adventure
The Arctic Unit Study invites learners to explore one of Earth's most fascinating regions through science, geography, history, culture, music, climate, folklore, and creative expression, all connected through one engaging theme: the Arctic.
This unit includes three Learning Adventures:
Arctic Holidays – Explore Arctic geography, Indigenous cultures, Nordic traditions, and folklore while discovering how environments shape celebrations around the world.
In the Hall of the Mountain King: Sounds of the Arctic – Discover Edvard Grieg, Norwegian culture, storytelling through music, and create an original composition using Chrome Music Lab.
Permafrost & Climate Change: A Frozen Earth Experiment – Investigate permafrost, climate change, Earth's layers, and engineering through a hands-on dry ice experiment.
Created from a neurodivergent lived perspective, Raising Brain Learning Adventures are designed to support curious learners who thrive with connected, meaningful, and engaging learning experiences. Rather than memorizing isolated facts, students are encouraged to explore, ask questions, make discoveries, and see how ideas connect across subjects.
Our lesson slides are designed with out-of-the-box thinkers in mind. Information is presented in smaller, engaging pieces to help learners process, retain, and connect what they are learning. Rather than overwhelming them with too much information at once, the slides are designed to spark curiosity and encourage learners to use each new discovery as a starting point for further exploration.
You can check out a preview of our lessons here.
After purchase, you will receive instant access to download the Instructor’s Guide. Inside the guide, the final page includes links to access the accompanying lesson slides.
The slides are provided for use with your own family or classroom only. Please do not share, distribute, or post the slide links with others. Your purchase supports the creation of future Raising Brain Learning Adventures, and we appreciate you helping us protect these resources.
