Each lesson breaks down important events, people, causes, and key details using humor, relatable language, clear explanations, and easy-to-follow timelines.

After learning the history, students get to choose how they want to show what they know with a flexible Activity Choice Board. Draw, build, write, act, create, research, or collaborate, the choice is theirs!

Perfect for middle school homeschoolers, co-ops, classrooms, and independent learners who thrive with hands-on activities, humor, choice, and flexible learning paths.

Print & Hand It to Students
Simply print the lesson and hand it to students. The student-friendly format allows learners to work through the material independently, making these lessons easy to use for independent study, homeschool, classroom instruction, or co-op learning.

History Written in a Language Students Understand
This curriculum is intentionally written in language students can understand, connect with, and actually want to read.
Instead of overly formal or textbook-heavy wording, Ayo! American History uses familiar language, humor, and relatable examples to capture students' attention and keep them engaged.

When students don't have to spend their energy decoding complicated language, they can focus on what they're actually learning.
The goal isn't to "dumb down" history. It's to make history approachable, memorable, and meaningful.

We want students to feel like the lesson is speaking to them, not talking over them.
By connecting history to the way students naturally communicate, Ayo! American History helps spark curiosity, hold attention, and make learning easier to understand, and easier to remember.

This unit study is designed for upper elementary and middle school learners, but it can be adapted for younger or older students based on their interests, learning style, and level of independence.
